Stress and anxiety among children and young people are at the highest they have ever been. The incidents of our children and young people suffering and developing mental and physical illnesses are rising. It infiltrates our homes, workplaces, and schools daily. Teachers, learners, and parents do not just have to cope with the demands of daily life, but an increase in mental and physical disorders that make learning challenging and coping with the hurdles of general life more difficult. Our Yoga and Mindfulness programme is designed to help individuals residing within high-conflict communities work towards embodied justice and social justice in our communities. We draw upon the rich traditions of Kemetic yoga from Africa and the Indic traditions from Southeast Asia with respect for these global south traditions amidst ongoing cultural appropriation. We integrate a trauma-informed approach throughout our Wellness Programme.
